What is your enquiry catalyst?
To engage fathers in their children’s learning
• To increase the knowledge and understanding of local fathers in the theory and practice of child development
• To aid transition between theory and application of child learning and development.
• To provide an interactive platform for fathers to communicate and share their experiences with one another.
Two of our Future Creative trainers (Rob Dembrey and Beth Harris) led five 2-hour workshops with fathers in the local community, and led creative activities and discussion to encourage the exploration of children’s development and learning.
Outcomes and Sustainability
Fathers were able to re-engage in their children’s learning by exploring and discovering child development theory that they had not previously known or understand.
One father has gone on to study Early Years Practice with the Open University and another father has investigated the option of working towards a Masters degree in Child Development.
