Approaches to Creative Learning
Alexia's approach to creative learning has always been a practical and exploratory one.
Using different drama-based techniques and methods to expand ideas and make new discoveries, allowing people to develop their imaginations and self awareness.
Through these findings people gain the self-confidence and self- belief to enable them to use their abilities in innovative ways they maybe hadn’t expressed or hadn’t dared to use before. Participants are able to try and achieve their ultimate goal or aim when working on the task, project or production being undertaken.
Creative Professional Biography
Before graduating from the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts Alexia had been involved in Community Theatre in London and France, performing self-devised pieces for schools and Arts festivals. She also worked with ‘Blaggart’ building huge sculptures in community spaces and festivals.
After graduating Alexia had small parts in T.V.dramas, adverts, pop videos, independent films and voice-over work.
She has performed in many different theatre productions at the Brighton Fringe festival. She also partook in a 10-month European Theatre in Education tour including workshops.
Alexia has written, devised and performed comedy/cabaret in the U.K. and Spain, performed in various plays at the Tristan Bates Theatre, London, and engineered & produced live radio shows; in particular the late night ‘diva slot’ graduating to a regular ‘morning magazine style’ show for an international radio station in Spain.
Alexia has been teaching English to young people for many years in the U.K. and Europe, always using a creative slant to make English Grammar interesting!
