Approaches to Creative Learning
Alina believes in the importance of creativity. Creativity is important for individual learners, educators and the greater community. This understanding helps to integrate people of different cultural backgrounds and age groups by encouraging interaction and communication through various artistic practices. Alina's own experience as a multi-media artist and creative practitioner is used to guide and inspire children and adults alike in a nurturing environment that builds confidence. The creative partnership workshops Alina has facilitated are based on visual art, storytelling, performance and filmmaking. Students use 2D and 3D props they create themselves that later become part of the set designs during a performance. These workshops are multi-disciplinary; some students perform their stories while others might film them using digital cameras. Alina has explored subjects in the school curriculum such as history, geography literature and literacy.
