Creative Partnerships Programme Open to New Schools for 2010-11

18 May 2010

Future Creative has been successfully delivering the Creative Partnerships Programme in schools across Kent and Medway since 2002 and to date has supported creative programmes in over 300 schools.

We are currently recruiting schools to participate in the Creative Partnerships Schools Programme for the academic year 2010-11.  There are three options available:

OPTION 1:

Enquiry Schools Programme

The Enquiry Schools programme will give you the opportunity to develop a bespoke enquiry-led creative learning project focusing on a specific area for development within your school.

Areas of focus for your Enquiry may include:

  • Leadership and ethos

  • Curriculum development and delivery

  • Teaching and learning

  • Staff learning and development

  • Environment and resources

As an Enquiry School:

  • You will have a minimum project budget of £4000*

  • Your school will be allocated a creative agent to oversee your programme

  • You can choose from over 150 Future Creative partners from the creative and cultural sector to support your creative learning programme

  • You will be part of a national network of Creative Partnerships schools

  • Future Creative will provide professional development opportunities for school staff

*The total budget for an Enquiry School programme is made up of a £3000 offer from Future Creative and a minimum of £1000 cash contribution from the school.

Enquiry School applications will be selected based on the demonstration of a desire to explore enquiry-led learning and a willingness to incorporate creativity into the school’s ethos.

All Enquiry Schools begin their project with an enquiry question, which links in with the School Development Plan.

OPTION 2:

Enquiry for Creative Change

The Enquiry for Creative Change programme is an opportunity to enhance and focus the Enquiry Schools programme (Option 1), by concentrating on embedding creative teaching and learning in your school’s long-term vision for change.

In addition to Option 1, the Enquiry for Creative Change programme will provide you with:

  • A Change School creative agent - a project manager with experience in driving whole school change through our Change Schools programme.

  • Access to the Creative Partnerships Change Schools programme resources, networks and events

  • An increased budget for creative partner time and resources

The total budget for an Enquiry for Creative Change programme is £6000. This is made up of a £3000 offer from Future Creative and match-funded by the school with a minimum of a £3000 cash contribution.

OPTION 3:

Enquiry for a Consortium

The Enquiry for a Consortium programme is for schools wishing to work together to overcome a particular challenge or follow a specific line of enquiry as a whole group. The programme has the same benefits and budget as Option 1, but by working together you get to make much better use of programme resources including creative agent and creative partner time. Other benefits of applying as a consortium are:

·         Enhanced communication between schools

·         Wider community and parental engagement

·         Schools work together on one theme, but can choose individual Enquiry questions

All schools within a consortium need to apply to the programme separately, and commit £1000 per school. Future Creative will commit £3000 to each school.

To apply to any of the Enquiry Schools programmes, please visit https://creativeweb.creative-partnerships.com.  Please see the file ‘Enquiry School Application Process’ under the Resource section of the Future Creative website.

The deadline for all applications is Friday 11 June 2010

Ofsted has recently recognised the benefits of schools engaging with the Creative Partnerships programme in its report Learning: creative approaches that raise standards, which can be found in the Resource section of our website.

If you have any questions about the application process or the programme, please contact the Future Creative office on 0845 200 4628 and speak to a member of the Creative Partnerships programme team, or email creativepartnerships@future-creative.org
