Arts Award Adviser Training
Future Creative is delighted to be part of the Arts Award Regional Development Agency for the South East. The Arts Award mission is to support young people who want to deepen their engagement with the arts, build creative and leadership skills while achieving a national qualification. The Arts Award is offered at levels 1, 2 and 3 on the National Qualifications Framework (which translate to Bronze, Silver and Gold) for young people aged 11-25 and can be achieved through exploring any of the art forms including performing arts, visual arts, literature, media and multimedia.
Arts Award is a personalised learning programme in which young people are encouraged to plan their learning and take the lead in their activities and projects, supported by an Arts Award Adviser.
Advisers choose how best to support the young people in their setting through to moderation, considering existing commitments and the amount of support young people may need and the nature of the activities. The adviser’s role is vital, acting as catalysts, mentors and assessors for young people.
The Award can be delivered from Year 6 upwards in School, in Further Education and Higher Education as well as non formal education and the youth sector. The Award also works brilliantly alongside the Creative Partnerships (CP) Programme, 14-19 Diploma, as part on the extended schools programme or during a work experience or holiday placement.
Adviser training to deliver the Arts Award at Bronze & Silver level is a one day course and costs £135, which includes lunch and a copy of the “Toolkit for Arts Award Advisers”.
Future Creative is an Arts Award Training Centre for Kent and Medway. Our next training sessions for Bronze and Silver advisers will take place in Deal on:
17th June 2010
19th November 2010
